If you did not handle your hen or rooster when they were young
and your attention sends them into a panic,
firmly hold the hen or rooster just like you would hold a football
and assure them that they are in good hands.
They cannot fly away if their wings are held down at the shoulders.
Do not let their drama intimidate you into letting them go
even if they start screaming bloody murder.
If you are afraid you might get bitten or scratched,
wrap the hen or rooster up in a towel.
They calm down and seem to like being bundled up.
The more you handle your chickens, the more tame they will become.
Victor gets a hug every day.
